Wellness Coaching

A wellness coach is your personal health cheerleader, guide, and partner. We will help you implement lifestyle changes to improve your physical health. We will create goals by looking at what stage of change you’re in and what action you’re ready to take. It’s about self-discovery. Our coach will regularly check in with you by email, phone calls, or in-person meetings, usually over the course of at least three months. During those conversations, we will discuss how you can overcome challenges and make healthy lifestyle changes. 

 

Weight Management Program 

An individualized plan may include weight loss techniques, dietary changes, exercise programs and behavior modifications, as well as support groups and educational lectures. 
 
What is weight management and why is it important?
  
It Helps You Lose Weight and Maintain Your Weight Loss Long-Term. A weight management plan is not just a quick fix or a fast way to lose weight. Instead, it provides patients with the tools they need to lose weight, eat the right foods, and maintain their healthy weight long-term.

 

Smoking Cessation Program 

Our smoking cessation program is a personalized treatment plan that can help you quit smoking. Our smoking cessation program provides support to put an end to your smoking habit and includes:

  • 1-on-1 consultation with a nurse practitioner
  • A nicotine dependence assessment
  • Educational information based on your specific needs and goals
  • Ongoing coaching and support to help you quit smoking
  • When appropriate, nicotine-replacement recommendations or prescriptions

Biometric Screenings

What is biometric screening? 

A biometric screening establishes a health baseline that can be used to evaluate the risk for a variety of health issues, many of which can be prevented through early detection and lifestyle changes. Screening includes:

  • Body composition: Height, weight, body mass index, body fat percentage, and waist circumference
  • Blood pressure and Pulse
  • A blood sample to test cholesterol, triglycerides, and glucose levels

After a screening, employees will receive a personal copy of their results and a health education booklet with easy-to-understand explanations for each test.

What’s the purpose of a biometric screening?

At SC Employee Health and Wellness, we use the information from biometric screenings to help our members stay healthy. If their results show they may be at risk for certain diseases, such as high blood pressure, high cholesterol, or diabetes, we work with them to improve their health through nutrition counseling, fitness coaching, and other services. 

Exercise Program

A personaized exercise program developed to discuss and explain the physical exercises you should perform in order to reach your goals, and the amount of time you should spend on each exercise. Each programme is tailored specifically to the person's needs and goals.

Regular physical activity can improve your muscle strength and boost your endurance. Exercise delivers oxygen and nutrients to your tissues and helps your cardiovascular system work more efficiently. And when your heart and lung health improve, you have more energy to tackle daily activities.
